The Project
A new fully modernized 24,000 SF recreation center alongside a high-quality public charter high school in Washington, DC’s Ward 8.
Structural features
The center is constructed using steel frame and load bearing masonry walls. The center includes a large indoor pool, large gymnasium, multipurpose and support spaces, and extensive green roofs. Ehlert Bryan also provided structural consulting services for site structure design which included: extensive retaining walls, planter walls, terraced seating, playfield scoreboard foundations and light pole support foundations.
